I’m sitting in a meeting and I just received this text from one our staff working in the office:
In 2018, computers are basic work essentials. And now, a new computer is an urgent need for our office in Sacramento. As my staff and I discussed this problem, the silver lining that was mentioned was that ourmatching grantis in effect until tomorrow at midnight. That means that any amount that you give today will be doubled. With session drawing to a close tomorrow, it’s crucial that we get our office back up and running asap. Can you help with a tax-deductible donation of any size? You can make an easy and secure donation here today. We are grateful for your help!
Have you heard?Capitol Resource Institute has received a $15,000 matching grant for the month of August from some of our generous donors! They’re matching every donation in the month of August dollar for dollar, up to $15,000. That means, every dollar you contribute to CRI has double the impact.
Your$20becomes$40,$50becomes$100, and$500becomes$1000! There is no better time to contribute, than when your gift will be matched!
Without financial support, we cannot continue the work that we do on behalf of families. We have received a response to our call, however, time is running out, and we want to make sure we make the most ofour matching grant which ends on August 31st!
What work does your financial contribution support? It’s been a busy year around our office. Let us tell you what we’ve been working on!
It seems every time we breathe out, there’s yet another bill threatening family, religious freedom, free speech, or parental rights. We’ve worked to educate legislators on the impact of some of the bills coming before them for a vote. Those who stand with us on important issues, we’ve worked to equip with information for hearings and floor debates. We were proud to have legislators cooperate with us to stand against government intrusion, free speech, and religious freedom.
Just yesterday, we sent over 2000 signatures to Governor Brown asking him to VETO AB 2601, a bill being pushed by activist organizations to expandprogressive sex education in charter schools.
We’ve rallied Californians to stand against many terrible bills this year, most recently, and notably, AB 2943. We’ve helped lead two lobby days, one at the capitol, and one in legislator’s districts, and provided citizens with all of the tools needed to advocate against this bill. Outreach to churches is always a key focus for us, and we’ve seen a growing number of church involvement in legislative issues as a result of this.
Just last month, we hostedCity on the Hill, our annual youth leadership conference. We had almost 50 students ages 14 – 18 gather in Rocklin, CA to spend a week immersed in an interactive experience in the legislative process. Every student who completed our post-conference survey said that after attending COTH, they now felt better equipped to engage in the political process, which is our goal. We want these Christian students to get active in their communities, out making a difference!
With 2018 almost behind us, and the new legislature already introducing anti-life legislation, we know that the attacks on our values are only going to increase. Please click here to support our work: ... See MoreSee Less
