Pro-life leaders are taking a big step to fight back against the federal government’s lack of transparency when it comes to abortion funding in Obamacare.
Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber made headlines for admitting on several occasions “a lack of transparency” helped get the bill through Congress.
Now pro-life leaders have announced in a Capitol Hill press conference they’ve launched a new website to expose which healthcare plans cover abortion-on-demand.
“Everyone, and I mean, everyone in all 50 states is being forced to subsidize elective abortions with taxpayers’ funds,” said Arina Grossu with the Family Research Council.
It turns out more than a thousand of those plans use taxpayer subsidies to help pay for abortions.
“Despite an appalling degree of non-transparency and obfuscation by this administration, an extensive audit by the General Accountability Office found in September that 1,036 Obamacare exchange plans covered elective abortion,” said Rep. Chris Smith (R-New Jersey), leader of the House Pro-Life Caucus.
Until now, it’s been hard for consumers to discover anywhere if they’re joining a plan they might disagree with.
“This website – obamacareabortion.com – will inform. It will motivate people to choose the right plans,” Smith said. “And I want to congratulate Lozier Institute as well as Family Research Council for having the wisdom to create it.”
The address for that new website is obamacareabortion.com.
